About us: Beaufort Scale
Beaufort Scale was formed in early 2025 by several active members of Beaufort Male Choir and Synergy choir, who were looking for an excuse to further expand their drinking singing and having fun.
In the last year we have performed regularly at gigs, concerts and festivals. We have also hosted regular open mic nights in Ebbw Vale, and we continue to raise funds for a range of local charities.
Plans for 2026 include appearances at shanty festivals in Wales, Devon, Hampshire, Somerset and Cornwall, a growing number of gigs and events, as well our first international tour to Spain!

Why ‘Beaufort Scale’?
We’re named Beaufort Scale as our crew are all based within a few miles from Beaufort in South Wales and most are also members of the amazing Beaufort Male Choir.
