Pirates in the Port – Newport

Come and see us – as well as 50+ other shanty and folk bands – at the Pirates in the Port Shanty & Folk Festival in Newport on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st May.
17 venues in Newport City Centre – stretching from the Corn Exchange to The Riverfront Theatre – will host 50+ UK shanty and folk bands, playing sets every hour at every venue over the 2 days.
We’ll be performing at the following venues & times:
Corn Exchange: Sat 30 May from 13:00 – 14:00 High Street. Newport
Queens Academy: Sat 30 May from 17:00 – 18:00 19 Bridge Street, Newport
Fire & Ice: Sun 31 May from 13:00 – 14:00 7 Cambrian Road, Newport
The event is again being organized by our friends from Bois-y-Bryn Shanty Group, and will be raising money for SARA (Severn Area Rescue Association), Wales Air Ambulance and RNLI via bucket collections in the venues. Last year over £2,000 was raised for these causes and we all hope to better that next time round.
